Hi
I bought second hand singer 502 machine. At the time of purchase, needle was broken. Well replaced one with 15x1 size, still it is not picking thread from bobin. Instead, needle thread getting chopped of or winding around bobin area.
Any comments or suggestion to fix this problem will help me to over come this issue.
Also appreciate, if you can send me a link or PDF attachment of user manual.

Your machine is one of the Stylist line. I don't have a link to a complete manual but here is the link to threading and bobbin winding http://www.sewusa.com/Threading_Diagrams/Threading_Pages/Singer_Sewing_Machine_Threading/singer_513_threading_diagram.htm

The flat side of your needle should go toward the back of the machine and the needle threads from front to back. Stylists are notorious for broken plastic internal gears but if the thread is getting wrapped around the bobbin, broken gear is probably not the cause. -Ed

I recently acquired my first sewing machine, but can't find any info on it. Could you tell me if it's worth keeping? It's a Montgomery Ward UHT J 1261. It has a straight, stretch, and zig zag feature... All metal, minus a few cap pieces... A little rusty with a handful of nicks and chipped paint. Not too shabby. It seems to fare well other than the looping issues I've been having...

I recently received a vintage singer. A number 13666470 is on the base. It runs manually the wheel on the right side. I have no idea how to thread it and having tried to fill the metal bobbin and insert it, I have little idea if I did it correctly. could you email me an online description that I could follow visually. I would really appreciate it.

I have no records to identify the model number of a machine that old. A photo would help - Ed
